Golf Green Sand
Links 707 is a new sand product that has been developed and tested for use in the construction and maintenance of golfing greens. |
We have received positive feedback about the product from professionals within the turf industry including a number of courses who have been using the material on site. |
Links 707 is a uniform medium-fine rootzone and topdressing sand similar in physical properties to the type of sand on which the game of golf originated in Scotland. It is a material that is best used in its own right as a pure sand growing medium rather than being pre-mixed with organic and/or soil amendments. |
The saturated hydraulic conductivity of the sand measured under standard laboratory conditions is 600 mm/hr, well above the limit of 150 mm/hr recommended by the US Golf Association. |
The depth of sand profile necessary to achieve a satisfactory air/water balance in the rootzone is typically 250-275 mm. Links 707 has a no calcium carbonate content. |
Links 707 can be used in both ‘California green’ and ‘sand-over-gravel’ golf green construction systems. |
We are happy to recommend experienced sports turf consultants to help you determine the best option for using Links 707 for your situation. |
